Baby Poem - Bird: Chronicles of a New Mother

Mother has found for me safety

Up high on a tree

She picks straw

She picked leaves

She picked twigs from off the tree

My mother

So sweet

Building a nest just

for me

All in while alert for predators

Lingering to eat

Mother is so brave she faces Danger

Everyday

for me

Piece by piece the puzzle begins

with

enough work and time

The straw becomes a plush haven

for me

to sit cozy

One day I will say Hello

I push out of this hard hard shell

and when I'm out I can't control my shake

Incontrollable excitement !

Incontrollable nervousness !

Incontrollable hunger !

When you arrive these shakes will say

for me

for me

give it for me

Food

Here

Please

And you deliver so mother

Thank you

I know now

Its all for me
