Under art therapy, an attempt is made to understand the mood of the patients through various mediums of art.

Art therapists use mediums like painting, dance, drama, music, photography, sculpture, psychological dramas, writing etc. for the treatment of patients. All these mediums are used for treatment because every person is closely connected with some form of art. People who are not able to express themselves properly benefit from this. The way of using brush in sketch, the gestures of the patient in drama, the choice of words in writing etc. makes it easy to understand the mood of the patient.
