Chronicles of a New Mother: Evermore

Baby what thoughts do you ponder,

That stare… how it gazes in a wonder,

A serene glare .

Don't be upset now child,

Mommy is near ,

She is here.

You feel discomfort and stressed ,

“Mommy, what's this feeling! Take it away!”.

“It’s not so bad when you stand and sway”.

When the discomfort has passed my baby starts to daze,

How precious this gift while it starts to slumbers,

The way the eyebrows go up and down quickly,

Little yawn and little beaks come after,

Slow blinks. B.. L… I… N… K ,

Close mouthed suckles emerge,

Defining the soft and smooth skin ,

Bubble cheeks quivering.

Peeps here and there ,

Jumps and little cries,

Lets mommy know discomforts still there .

Oh how lovely the way my baby sees me ,

Keeping near always near,

to me ,

Evermore…

Evermore I shall be,

Mother for my baby.
